The Miami Heat are one of the most famous professional basketball teams in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Based in Miami, Florida, the team was established in 1988 as an expansion franchise. Their current home stadium is American Airlines Arena in Downtown Miami.

The original “flaming ball” logo of the Miami heat is one of the most popular and instantly recognizable logos in sports history. It consists of a basketball on fire which goes through a hoop above the team’s name.
The logo underwent slight modifications in 1999 as the hoop was made white and the basketball featured bright shades of red color. It features a custom-made typeface.
